If you're eager to begin using the new AP Biology labs or implement IB requirements, join us!

Find out how to integrate the labs for AP Biology or IB, and learn how you can follow your budget, the seasons, or any of your students' whims of curiosity when you guide them through experiments of their own design. You'll come away from a CLC 5-day Summer Workshop knowing how to: * Create an interactive, exploration-based environment in your classroom * Teach students the value of using the peer review method to clean up project proposals before data collection begins and review conclusions before they are published * Use statistical analysis methods such as chi-squared, linear regression and t-testing to determine if the data collected meets the p-value necessary to reject the null hypothesis * Share students' analysis and conclusions in unique ways, so that everyone learns from each others' discoveries * Teach your students to collaborate as a group of peer explorers who question the world through scientific reasoning If you would like to add these skills to your repertoire, please join me for a 5-day Summer Workshop this year in Asheville, NC, where we will do all of these things and more using hands-on learning and critical-thinking activities. 5-day Summer Workshops 2012 "Critical-thinking Activities for Cell Biology" June 11-15, 2012 "Critical-thinking Activities for Anat & Physio" June 18-22, 2012 "Critical-thinking Activities for Ecology" (for ES and Bio) June 25-29, 2012 "Critical-thinking Activities for Genetics" July 2-July 6, 2012 For a detailed list of the topics covered in each workshop, click on Summer Workshop Agendas.
